Chocolate, date and whiskey truffles

While your house may not be able to accommodate yet another ornament or pot plant you've been given as a gift, there's always room in the pantry for homemade treats! Edible gifts are easy, inexpensive and a great way to pass on kind thoughts to friends, colleagues and neighbours.
Ingredients

| 75 g | Dates, roughly chopped |
| 2 tbsp | Whisky, or a liqueur |
| 250 g | Dark chocolate, roughly chopped |
| 2 tbsp | Cream |
| 2 tbsp | Cocoa powder |
Directions
- Combine dates and whiskey.
- Gently melt chocolate and cream in the microwave or over a very low heat. Add the dates and whiskey and stir until mixture is thick and gooey.
- Roll into small balls and place in a single layer on a tray lined with baking paper. Freeze for 1 hour.
- Roll truffles in cocoa to coat, then refrigerate or freeze them until required.
Tip! Avoid sticky fingers by wetting your hands when rolling the mixture into balls.
